Regular season records: Las Vegas 10-7; Cincinnati 10-7
What there is to know
The Las Vegas Raiders will face the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday at Paul Brown Stadium at 4:30 p.m. ET. Las Vegas should still feel good after a win, while Cincinnati will look to right the ship.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Raiders finally got the result they were hoping for last Sunday with a 35-32 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Las Vegas can attribute much of their success to RB Josh Jacobs, who rushed for a TD and 132 yards on 26 carries.
Special teams had 17 points for Las Vegas. K Daniel Carlson scored five field goals, the longest 52 yards in the fourth quarter, which ultimately explained the difference in the game.
Meanwhile, Cincinnati didn’t finish too far behind, but the team still lost 21-16 to the Cleveland Browns last Sunday. Nobody had a standout game offensively for the Bengals, but they got scores from RB Chris Evans and DB Trayvon Henderson.
The Raiders are expected to lose this next by 5.5. However, those who like to bet on the underdog should be happy to learn that they are 5-2 against the spread when they are expected to lose.
Las Vegas fell far behind Cincinnati when they played the two teams’ last meeting earlier in the regular season, losing 32-13. Can Las Vegas avenge its loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We will know soon.
