Raiders set to welcome offensive playmaker again

Darren Waller entered 2021 as the Raiders’ greatest offensive playmaker, and although Hunter Renfrow may have passed him as the No.1 wide receiver thanks to a season of 99 catches and 1,025 yards , the Pro Bowl tight end is crucial to Las Vegas’ success.

Waller hasn’t adjusted since injuring his knee in the Raiders’ Thanksgiving win over the Cowboys, but after a five-game absence he is expected to play in a likely home showdown with the Chargers on the “Sunday Night Football”, by ESPN’s Dianna Russini. His 6-foot-6, 255-pound frame, athleticism and sure hands would go a long way for the Raiders to make their first playoff appearance since 2016.

The Raiders could also secure a spot if the Colts and Steelers both lose earlier in the day, although with the Colts’ 14 favorite points in Jacksonville, that scenario is a long shot.
