As LeBron James celebrates his 37th birthday, the Lakers superstar continues to win the battle with Father Time

LeBron James takes another milestone Thursday as he celebrates his 37th birthday. James is currently entering his 19th NBA season and his fourth as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. In 24 games this season, James is averaging 28 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.5 steals while shooting 36.9% from beyond the arc. His 28-point-per-game average is the highest of any player 37 or older in league history.

The Lakers star recently played one of his best basketballs of the season. Over the past six games, James has averaged 34.8 points, 10.3 rebounds and 6.5 assists while shooting 40.4 percent from a 3-point range.

Starting Thursday, James has 14 30-point games this season, the most by any player in the league, including Stephen Curry (13), Kevin Durant (13) and Trae Young (13).

James certainly had to take part of the Lakers’ game with star big man Anthony Davis out of roster. Davis is currently suffering from a knee injury and is expected to miss at least three more weeks.

Here’s a look at some of James’ major accomplishments throughout his career:

  • 4 times NBA champion
  • 4 times MVP of the NBA Finals
  • MVP 4 times in the regular season
  • 17 All-Star Game appearances
  • 13 times All-NBA first team
  • First All-NBA defensive team on 5 occasions
  • 2008 top scorer

During his 19-year career in the NBA, James has received numerous accolades, both individually and collectively. It’s honestly hard to believe that James has been around for so long and seems to have several more seasons in the tank to play at a high level.

Hoping James has a lot more birthdays as an active NBA player.
