The Philadelphia 76ers and Ben Simmons will continue their dance-in-progress as the trade deadline approaches. It’s no secret that the 25-year-old All-Star doesn’t want anything to do with the Sixers and wants to be traded, but Philadelphia won’t trade him for anything either.
The Sixers want a Top 25 player in exchange for Simmons to team up with Joel Embiid to fight for a title, but they haven’t been able to find the right value for him yet. They also want him back on the team, but Simmons no longer intends to wear a Sixers uniform.
Simmons’ agency Klutch Sports has met with President Daryl Morey and Managing Director Elton Brand to find a truce on this current standoff, but nothing has changed. Simmons still doesn’t want to play here and the Sixers still only want a better player for him.
Lunch meeting in Philadelphia with management from Paul and Sixers to discuss Simmons’ current situation, sources said. The Sixers continue to want Simmons to come back to the ground, but there’s no movement on that front – no pull on a trade now. The deadline for exchanges is February 10.

The Sixers will still need to manage the squad and continue to stay focused on the floor despite what is going on with Simmons as they move forward in their season.
