LA loses 3 places in latest Rookie Wire power ranking

It’s been a tough few weeks for the Los Angeles Lakers, and the struggles aren’t going away anytime soon.

Without Anthony Davis and key Rotation players like Trevor Ariza and Austin Reaves, among others, the Lakers lost five straight games before finally breaking the drought-winning match against the Houston Rockets on Tuesday.

The momentum, however, did not last long. The Lakers lost a 13-point second-half lead to the Memphis Grizzlies, again sending the team to two games below 0.500 at 17-19.

But before the Lakers played the final two games, Rookie Wire’s Cody Taylor set a new power ranking for all 30 teams, and the Lakers went from No.12 to No.15:

Last row: 12

The Lakers currently have the longest losing streak in the NBA with five games. They wrapped things up on Christmas Day against the Brooklyn Nets, but ultimately fell behind schedule. To make matters worse, they have the toughest remaining schedule this season.

Let’s see if the Lakers can react after the loss to Memphis and increase in the next edition of Rookie Wire next week.
