NBA DFS: Julius Randle and the best DraftKings, FanDuel Fantasy Basketball Daily Picks for January 15, 2022

Just days after the Hawks traded Cam Reddish to the Knicks, the two teams will meet in Atlanta on Saturday. While Reddish (ankle) won’t play against his former team, his departure opens up small forward game time for the likes of Kevin Huerter and De’Andre Hunter. More minutes means more shots and more stats, so you could be doing a lot worse than forming an NBA DFS stack with Huerter and Hunter for Saturday.

Neither player will break the bank for your NBA DFS salary cap, leaving plenty of room for you to come up with more expensive options. And that’s the key to formulating a winning NBA DFS strategy – pairing low-cost, high-reward players with superstars. So what other value picks are there in tonight’s NBA DFS player pool? Before you lock in your NBA DFS rosters for Saturday, be sure to check out NBA DFS tips, player ratings, stacks and daily top fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

McClure is a DFS pro with nearly $2 million in career earnings. He is also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine which uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking into account factors such as matches, statistical trends and injuries.

This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal rosters that he only shares on SportsLine. They are must-haves for any NBA DFS player.

On Friday, McClure included Hornets guard LaMelo Ball as one of his top NBA DFS picks on DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Ball finished with 23 points, eight assists, four rebounds and three steals, returning 46 points on DraftKings and 45.8 points on FanDuel. Everyone who included him in their lineups was well on his way to a profitable day.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to the NBA DFS slate for Saturday, Jan. 15, and has locked down his daily top fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by going to SportsLine.

The top NBA DFS picks for Saturday, January 15

One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Saturday is Knicks forward Julius Randle at $8,600 on DraftKings and $8,200 on FanDuel. Randle flirted with his first triple-double of the season on Wednesday as he scored 17 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and provided eight assists in a win over the Mavericks.

Randle was dominant the last time he saw the Hawks as he had 25 points and 12 rebounds in that Christmas Day game. The Hawks have struggled with power forwards this season and allowed Miami’s PJ Tucker to drop 17 points on Friday, his second-highest point total of the season. Also, Reddish isn’t the only Knicks player missing on Saturday, as Kemba Walker and Derrick Rose won’t play either, leaving even more leverage for Randle.

Another key to McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Bulls forward DeMar DeRozan ($8,500 on DraftKings and $8,000 on FanDuel). DeRozan will have to take on a greater load of the Bulls’ offense with Zach LaVine (knee) among six Chicago players listed as absentees. In his 13th NBA season, DeRozan is playing at an All-NBA level and is averaging 25.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game.

DeRozan has had two games this season that LaVine hasn’t played in and the veteran hasn’t disappointed. He dropped 38 points to the Lakers on Dec. 19, then had 26 points the following night against the Rockets. He also had six assists in each of those games, so he’s not just looking for his shot when LaVine sits. Also, DeRozan’s third-highest point total of the season of 37 points came against the Celtics on Nov. 1, and Boston happens to be Chicago’s opponent tonight.

How to set NBA DFS lineups for Saturday January 15

McClure is also targeting a player who could leave for massive numbers on Saturday because of a dream game. This choice could mean the difference between winning your tournaments and cash games or going home with nothing. You can only see who it is here.
