Steph Curry’s son Canon presents Klay Thompson with a game ball

As Klay Thompson was set to make his long-awaited comeback against the Cleveland Cavaliers, emotions were running high at the Chase Center in San Francisco on Sunday.

After a knee and Achilles tendon injury that kept him out of play for more than two seasons, Thompson entered the pitch with his teammates on Sunday for the first time in 941 days.

In his first comeback, Thompson scored 17 points on 7 of 18 shots from the field and 3 of 8 shots from beyond the arc. The five-time All-Star added three rebounds, an assist and a block in 20 minutes against the Cavs.

After his emotional return to the field, Thompson won the ball in the Warriors’ 96-82 win over the Cavs on Sunday. In the Golden State locker room, Thompson received the ball from a special presenter.

Steph Curry’s young son, Canon, was the one to hand the ball over to Thompson after his long-awaited return to the pitch.
