Watch Morant, Grizzlies beat Curry, Warriors for 10th straight win

A few days ago Desmond Bane said forget to talk about All-Star, we should talk about Ja Morant as the best point guard in the game today. The reaction of many? “Um, have you seen Stephen Curry play?” “

On Tuesday night, Ja Morant outscored Stephen Curry one-on-one (barely, but he was more effective). Morant scored or assisted on 20 of the Grizzlies’ 28 points in the first quarter, then when the game was close late in the game, he stabbed the Warriors with a dagger.

Morant finished with 29 points and eight assists, and the Grizzlies earned their 10th straight victory, 116-108.

Curry finished with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, but shot 8 of 21 on the night and was 2 of 9 of three. Curry didn’t get enough help: Andrew Wiggins was 5 of 12 shots, Klay Thompson 5 of 13 and Jordan Poole 3 of 11 off the bench. The Warriors missed Draymond Green – with left calf strain – at both ends of the pitch on Tuesday.

That’s because there’s no margin for error against the Grizzlies right now.

Not only is Morant on fire, but the movement of the ball and the movement of the players of these Grizzlies – not to mention their showmanship – reminds you of the best warriors. These Grizzlies are doing the show.

The Grizzlies had 17 points each from Ziaire Williams and Tyus Jones. Gary Payton II had a solid game for the Warriors, scoring 13 points on 6 of 8 shots.

We’ll see where the ballot and team selection ends up, but the next time we see Curry and Morant together, it could be in a starting backcourt in the All-Star Game. They’re both at that level now.
