CD Projekt Red Releases Free Mod Tool for Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red has released a free mod tool for Cyberpunk 2077.

The REDmod tool can be downloaded from Steam and CD Projekt itself and allows users to install mods into the game with relative ease.

“This will help users customize and create their own experiences in Cyberpunk 2077, including custom sounds, animations, scripts and more. We will be continuously updating it as we release updates to the game itself to keep it compatible.”

In short, this should make installing and using mods easier for players. People who don’t want to use the tool can still load old mods via the archive folder. “But they don’t appear in the REDmod menu. New mods that are compatible with REDmod must be added via the new mods folder for the best experience.”

Earlier this week, CD Projekt Red announced an expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 called Phantom Liberty. The expansion will be released next year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S and PC – the previous generation of consoles will not be supported. Phantom Liberty expands an existing district of Night city and includes mostly new characters. Main character V and Johnny Silverhand, played by Keanu Reeves, also return. The developer said it is the only expansion planned for the game.
