Closed Beta for Endgame Content in Diablo 4 Announced

Blizzard will be holding a closed beta for endgame content in Diablo 4 sometime in the coming months.

The company announced this in a blog post. The beta should focus on endgame content in the dungeon crawler, such as Nightmare Dungeons and Helltides.

Helltide is an event within the game world that requires defeating more powerful versions of regular enemies. These leave Cinders behind, which can be used to open Helltide chests. The Nightmare Dungeons are special versions of regular dungeons with special mods, Whispers of the Dead and Paragon Boards, which allow players to gain more powers after reaching the maximum level. The beta also includes the Fields of the Hatred. These are special PvP zones for the most experienced players.

People who want to participate in the closed beta that is due to start sometime in the coming months must be registered. Even then it remains to be seen who will be invited, although Blizzard says that players who have spent a lot of time in Diablo 3 and Diablo 2: Resurrected have a better chance. An open beta should be available to everyone at some point in early 2023.

Diablo 4 is due out sometime in 2023. The game is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, and Xbox One and will feature cross-play and cross-progression.
