Anthony Joshua implies that Tyson Fury’s comments that he is a big bodybuilder had an impact on his tactics in his loss to Oleksandr Usyk

Anthony Joshua has revealed that he tried to outbox Oleksandr Usyk in order to prove that he is not a big, rigid bodybuilder.

British star Joshua (24-2-0, 22 KOs), former unified heavyweight world champion, gave his first interview in 2022, taking into account his loss to the Ukrainian Usyk (19-0-0, 13 KOs).

Joshua said via SkySports :

“Usyk came from the light-heavyweight, he’s a really good fighter, a 12-round fighter. “

“I wanted to box with him for 12 rounds and show that I can box, because there has always been a stigma that I cannot box… that I am a big and rigid bodybuilder. “

“So I said: Okay cool let me practice my boxing. “

“I tried to practice my boxing with Usyk. He won nine rounds, and I won three. “

“The next fight, I win four more rounds and I win. “

“Let me simplify this matter and then I’ll be on my way to becoming the undisputed world champion again. “

Tyson fury (31-0-1, 22 KOs) will probably be very excited about this revelation.

“The Gypsy King” has repeatedly labeled its rival a fat, rigid bodybuilder over the past decade.

Now there is apparently confirmation that these words had an impact on the way of thinking of Joshua before his defeat.
