After spending six fights under the Rizin FF banner, Tofiq Musayev is the newest addition to the Bellator roster.
Promotion officials confirmed to MMA Junkie that the lightweight veteran has agreed to a multi-fight deal with the organization. The signature was originally reported by Ariel helwani.
Musayev, 32, (18-4) last played in June, when he suffered a surprising submission loss to Roberto de Souza in an unsuccessful attempt to claim Rizin’s then vacant light belt.
Ahead of the setback, Musayev enjoyed a 14-game winning streak, including wins over UFC veterans Daron Cruickshank, Damien Brown and Johnny Case, as well as a victory in December 2019 over the current lightweight champion. of Bellator Patricky “Pitbull” Freire to win the Rizin crown grand prize.
In professional competition since 2013, Musayev has won 16 of his 18 career wins by stoppage, including 14 by knockout.
