For the first time since 2016, Conor McGregor fought twice in the octagon of a calendar, making the UFC’s biggest draw a huge reason for the promotion’s financial success.

McGregor returned to fight Dustin Poirier in January at UFC 257, losing by knockout in the second round. This prompted a rematch six months later at UFC 264 where McGregor broke his leg late in the first round, resulting in a TKO injury victory for Poirier.
