Henry Cejudo offers his help to Jorge Masvidal for UFC 272

MMA – Olympic wrestling champion and UFC champ Henry Cejudo thinks he can help Jorge Masvidal ahead of his fight against Colby Covington at UFC 272.

Although they do not compete for a belt, the clash between Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal is one of the most anticipated of this beginning of the year. The two former friends will reunite in the octagon for the main event of UFC 272 on March 5.

After suffering a defeat, which he has nothing to be ashamed of, against Kamaru Usman, Covington is announced as the favorite. However, Masvidal has already proven in the past that he can beat the odds with one shot. Everyone remembers his stunning knockout against Ben Askren, just seconds after the start of the fight.

According to Henry Cejudo, it is precisely on this victory that Masvidal must rely to prepare for his fight against Covington. Here’s what the former two-time UFC champion said on his YouTube channel:

“I think the most important thing for them (Masvidal and his team) is to really train for stealth attack. The way he caught Ben Askren is exactly what he needs to put in place to catch Colby. Because Colby is not an athletic person. »

“He can’t box, he can’t kick. On the other hand, he knows how to wrestle, he knows how to grind, and these are two very important things. The most important thing about him is his wrestling. I think that’s the superior advantage it has. But at the same time, we can also train for it. »

If that advice isn’t enough, Cejudo even offers Masvidal to help out during his training camp.

“I hope he wins. And if he needs help, I’m the guy who can really help him. I’m not like the people he probably has. I just bring a whole different perspective, man. I have 100% takedown defense in the UFC. No one has ever put me down, and then I forget that I have an Olympic gold medal, ”concluded Cejudo, in all modesty.
