Korean Zombie set to return against Volkanovsky at UFC 272

MMA – The Korean Zombie is applying to replace Max Holloway against Alexander Volkanovski.

Following the announcement of Max Holloway’s package for UFC 272, applications to replace him keep coming. After Henry Cejudo, it’s the Korean Zombie’s turn to position itself. Speaking to MMA Junkie, his manager said he was ready to take on Alexander Volkanovsky on the March 5 card.

“KZ is more than keen to come back and fight for the title at UFC 272,” he said. “Looking at the standings, he’s the highest ranked fighter who comes out of a win. It’s a fight that many have been talking about for a while now. If given the chance, he will show that he is the best in the world. “

Indeed, the Korean is ranked third among the featherweights, behind Max Holloway and Brian Ortega. The latter comes out of a loss to Volkanovski in September, while the Korean Zombie remains on a victory against Dan Ige in June.

In his last five fights, he has been defeated twice, against Yair Rodriguez and Brian Ortega.

The Korean already had the opportunity to clinch the featherweight belt in 2013, but lost by TKO to Jose Aldo.
