Tyson Fury proposed to Francis Ngannou to play a single fight with the application of certain boxing and UFC rules, which caused an exchange of words between the two on social media.
The UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou (16-3), mentioned the name of the WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson fury (31-0-1, 22 KOs), as a future opponent once the Cameroonian inevitably gets into boxing.
And now, Fury welcomed the idea by showing a poster of this hypothetical fight on social media:
Fury captioned the tweet this Thursday as follows:
“Who would love to see me fight the beast under boxing rules and wearing UFC gloves?” @DanaWhite @Francis_Ngannou »
Ngannou then replied:
“What do you say that it is done according to MMA rules with boxing gloves? I can do you this favor. “
Of which Fury responded :
“You want to step into my world, challenging me and Deontay Wilder to a boxing match. “
“What I can guarantee you is that you will be knocked out and that you will also get your biggest purse!” So think about it. “
Ngannou concluded by saying:
“Once I settle my accounts on January 22, I will fight you under any rules set as you like.” In a ring, in the Octagon or in a telephone booth. “
Ngannou will defend his UFC title against Ciryl Gane (10-0) in the Octagon, at UFC 270, but after that, nothing is clear about the Cameroonian’s future.
One thing he said that is for sure is that he eventually wants to compete in a boxing ring:
“Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder, I want to test myself at this level. “
“It’s not the same sport although I’m the champion. I reign at the top of the division. “
“At the end of the day, it’s just about training my hands, training my punches, hitting the target with my bombs and I’m sure if I hit it with my punches that would be great,” I can do a lot of damage. “
