Ed Sheeran releases a song in collaboration with Pokémon

Ed Sheeran will release a new song in collaboration with The Pokémon Company next week.

The song is called Celestial and will be released on streaming services on September 29. A short clip of the song, which he sings while surrounded by Pokemon plushes, can be seen below.

The musician has previously admitted to being a huge fan of Pokémon. For example, he would have played Pokémon Red during one of his first tours while waiting.

The latest Pokémon games, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, will be released on Nintendo Switch on November 18. The game takes place in the Paldea region, a completely open world where players can arrange the order of Gyms themselves.

Players study in the games at a university. Depending on which game is bought, one studies at Naranja Academy or Uva Academy. Another important element of the story is so-called treasure hunts to participate in.

Also unique to the game is that players spend the entire game with a Legendary Pokémon: Miraidon or Koraidon. These Pokémon adapt according to the actions players want to take – for example, they can be ridden and flown.
