Elden Ring named Game of the Year at Japan Game Awards

FromSoftware’s Elden Ring has won Game of the Year at the Japan Game Awards.

The Japan Game Awards are presented every September during Tokyo Game Show. Games released during this year to now or late last year have a chance to win awards.

Other winners include Call of Duty: Vanguard (for best foreign game), Pokémon Brillant Diamond and Shining Pearl (for best Japanese product) and Inscryption (for best game design).

Elden Ring received a 9.5 on Gamer.nl: “Elden Ring borrows a lot from Dark Souls and a bit from Bloodborne and Sekiro. With the blueprints of those games in their hands, FromSoftware started building and building. The result is a hugely good open world game that leaves an unforgettable impression in both scale and detail, but also deters it.”
