In February, it was announced that Andre Onana had been banned for nine months by UEFA. That suspension came after the Cameroonian goalkeeper of Ajax had used prohibited substances. To this day, Onana continues to insist that he took those resources unknowingly.
Onana’s contract with Ajax expires at the end of this season. As a result, the team from Amsterdam is in danger of losing their talented goalkeeper to one of the many candidates for free. For a long time it seemed that Ajax wanted nothing more than to lose the goalkeeper, although those rumors are now being denied in the Dutch media. Onana also appeared for the first time at training at the Dutch top club today.
According to De Telegraaf would no longer prey on Onana’s entourage for a transfer to a European top competition. Also Ajax itself would no longer be reluctant to a possible contract extension of the goalkeeper. It could therefore just be that Onana will also try to keep the goal of the team from Amsterdam clean in the coming seasons.
