Bayern youngster Wanner makes history with his Bundesliga debut

A youngster moved up to second place in the ranking of the youngest Bundesliga players in history with German record champions Bayern Munich on Friday.

Substitute Paul Wanner (16 years and 15 days) made his debut in the home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Only Youssoufa Moukoko (16 years and 1 day) of Borussia Dortmund was younger when it premiered in the German top division.

“Paul Wanner made a very good impression,” said coach Julian Nagelsmann after the game DAZN. At the press conference, he added: “He has to keep his head clear, then the door and gate will be open for him. If not, the door will be closed again soon. He is an excellent player, but up here [im Kopf] it is decided where to go. He can do anything downstairs.”
