Borussia Mönchengladbach has apparently found a successor for Matthias Ginter with a competition rival. According to consistent media reports, Marvin Friedrich is about to move from Union Berlin to the foals.
The central defender of the Iron was missing according to the picture and was already kicker in the team training on Tuesday. The medical examination should also take place in Gladbach on Tuesday.
With this, the Gladbachers are reacting early to the imminent departure of defense chief Ginter, with whom they could not agree on an extension of his contract expiring in the summer.
Friedrich’s contract in the capital ran until the end of the season. Initially, nothing was known about the transfer fee.
The 26-year-old has been a top performer and vice-captain of the Köpenickers so far. In the first half of the season, the ex-Schalke played in 21 competitive matches. With a total of 78 Bundesliga appearances for Union, he is also the club’s current record player.
