FCB, News: Uli Hoeneß shoots against the DFB

In an interview with ZDF, the Honorary President of Bavaria, Uli Hoeneß, renewed his criticism of the DFB. “Once upon a time there was the DFB. Right now it doesn’t exist for me. It doesn’t exist. It’s just a quarreling gang only concerned with itself, but not with the problems of German football.” Instead of the German Football Association, the DFB should be called the “German Controversy Society”.

The 70-year-old also attacked people who did not want to be vaccinated against the corona virus in the current situation. This is “a ruthlessness towards society that stinks of heaven,” Hoeneß said. He had already spoken out about this before the start of the second half of the season.

He talked about it for a long time, especially with Joshua Kimmich. The Bayern midfielder was initially skeptical about vaccination, but was eventually vaccinated. “Young people have the right to be wrong,” Hoeneß said. He is happy that the 26-year-old has taken advice at the end of the day.

Bayern, News: FCB trio back in training

FC Bayern can breathe a sigh of relief about the tense staff situation. Corentin Tolisso, Omar Richards and Kingsley Coman, three players with Corona, returned to training on Saturday. While Tolisso trained with the team, Richards and Coman did individual exercises. The number of active corona cases in the selection of the German record champions has thus been reduced to six.

According to coach Julian Nagelsmann, the recoverers should be given enough time to find their way back to their old strength. “We’ll see which players are available against Cologne then,” the coach said Friday in view of the match in the second half of next week at FC: “I am not counting on an extremely high number of returnees who are eligible for the first team to come.”

You have to “see that we don’t run into something blindly”. More players who tested positive will probably return from quarantine in the course of the week.

FCB, News: Ulreich criticizes DFL

In the 1:2 defeat to Borussia Mönchengladbach, Bayern had to start from behind. Due to the corona virus alone, the German record champions missed ten players. Keeper Sven Ulreich therefore takes the DFL to court.

“It is then a bit irresponsible for the DFL to play such a game, because it is also about the health of the players,” Ulreich criticized de Sportschau. In his opinion, the meeting should have been postponed due to the huge staffing problems Bayern had.

“The conditions were obviously very difficult for the team, also because you never knew if you would play,” he added to Sport1. “I don’t know if the game really needed to be played.”

Only players who had never played a Bundesliga minute before were on the Bayern bench. Most were taken from their own U23. “We had ten field players who are usually in training with us, the rest came from the youth or the second team,” said Ulreich.
