‘A very talented boy’: SC Freiburg have linked U-21 international Kevin Schade to himself again.

Kevin Schade turns 20 on Saturday, and there was a first birthday present three days before: SC Freiburg gave the striker a new contract. As usual, the Bundesliga squad didn’t name a term or other content, but Schade can certainly expect a pay rise.
“Kevin is a very talented boy who has developed in an extremely positive way,” said Jochen Saier, SC board member, in the club announcement. “He brings speed and depth to our game and has also taken technical and tactical strides in the past few months.”
Too bad: “… the SC is the right club for that”
It was a shame, coming from Energie Cottbus in 2018, had gone from under-23 for the new season and has now played his first nine Bundesliga games, including two in the starting lineup (no scorer point, average kicker’s rating 3.63). Born in Potsdam, he also made his U21 debut in October and has already scored three goals after four DFB appearances.
“Now it will be about working together intensively and persistently to further harness that potential,” Saier said. “We look forward to this collaboration and a truly exciting journey together.”
It’s a shame, apparently, too: “I’m young, I want to gain experience and compete – SC is the right club for that. I feel completely at home here and in good hands.”
