Marouane Chamakh paid a friendly visit to the Girondins de Bordeaux at the Château du Haillan, 11 years after his departure for England. He gave the reason for his return to the training center of his former club. “It had been eleven years since I had returned to the center of Haillan. It warmed my heart because these are practically the best memories I have of my career. Having officially ended his career in 2019, the former Bordeaux striker wants to retrain in the world of coaches. A native of Tonneins (Lot-et-Garonne), Marouane Chamakh was trained with the Girondins between 2000 and 2003. He then made his professional debut, with the club at the age of 19. The 37-year-old former striker played 8 seasons in Ligue 1 between 2003 and 2010, before his free start at Arsenal in July 2010. He played 301 matches in the Navy and White jersey, for 74 goals scored and 24 assists decisive offerings. His record in Ligue 1 is more than correct: 230 games played for 56 goals scored and 23 assists delivered. Besides Bordeaux, Marouane Chamakh has not played with another club in the championship.
