A supporter of the top French football club Olympique Marseille was killed in an accident between a minibus and a truck on Wednesday evening. This was announced by the Blois prosecutor. A total of nine Marseille fans were on their way home in the minibus after their team’s away game at SCO Angers (0-0) when the accident occurred.
“The minibus collided with the rear of a truck for unknown reasons. The driver of the truck did not notice the impact immediately, but stopped shortly afterwards on the hard shoulder,” said the public prosecutor Frederic Chevallier to the French news agency AFP .
The passenger died, two other people were taken to the hospital, but their condition is not critical. The six other passengers were slightly injured. According to the police, the driver’s toxicological test was negative, instead the public prosecutor assumes a “lack of vigilance”.
