Ernesto Valverde is a candidate for coaching at Manchester United. As SPOX and GOAL, initial discussions have already taken place with the 57-year-old.
The ideal solution to succeed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains Mauricio Pochettino. But his club Paris Saint-Germain are currently not ready to let the Argentine leave during the season.
Pochettino himself is open to a return to the Premier League, but recently said he doesn’t want to be “distracted by the rumors” just yet.
The 49-year-old should have better chances next summer, which is why the Red Devils are currently looking for an interim coach. Valverde is a candidate.
Valverde’s last stop was FC Barcelona, where he was sidelined from 2017 to early 2020. With the Blaugrana, he was twice champion and once cup winner.
