Serie A: apparently three more games canceled

After four matches scheduled for Thursday were canceled at the beginning of the year in the Italian Serie A due to multiple corona cases, apparently three more matches will not be played the following match day over the weekend.

As local health authorities have ordered several teams to be quarantined, the Cagliari Calcio-Bologna FC, Turin-AC Florence and Udinese Calcio-Atalanta Bergamo matches have been canceled. That reports the Gazzetta dello Sport.

The league decided on Thursday that a club must compete in the future if they have 13 outfield players and a goalkeeper available. Several clubs have called for the current rules to be changed.

“If there are not too many players available, then the matches have to be cancelled. Of course the matches do not have to be canceled with a few infected people, but if the situation is serious, there is no point in playing,” said Turin FC. boss Urbano Cairo, representative.
