According to Intel chairman Pat Gelsinger, the first Intel Arc A770 video cards are being prepared for sale.
Gelsinger posted on Twitter that he has received his own Arc A770 video card. In the attached photo, Gelsinger holds off the Limited Edition of the Arc A770, a present from Raja Koduri, foreman of Intel’s graphics division.
Gelsinger added that “the first run of Arc A770 cards are being readied for retail”. The flagship of Intel’s very first Alchemist-generation GPUs still has no official release date, although Intel spokespersons often claimed that the rollout would follow “very soon”.
So far, the appearance of the first Intel Arc products has been somewhat messy. The heavier Arc A7 GPUs have been postponed several times, while the laptop and budget offer for the time being appears to be exclusive to select Asian countries. According to Intel’s own roadmap, all Alchemist GPUs should launch by 2022. For at least the Arc A770 desktop card, Intel claims that a “wider market” is intended, including at least Germany.
