He oversaw, among other things, the activities in the Formula E and GT class. With Krack, Aston Martin brings in a man with a lot of experience.

Until now, Krack had been in control of BMW’s motorsport branch for years. He led the Formula E project, the GT and IMSA program, and is behind Aston Martin’s expansion into the IMSA and WEC classes. Before his term at BMW, Krack worked for a long time at Porsche and Sauber. A rich CV, in other words, with the necessary prominent names on it.

“It is very exciting to start as a team principal of Aston Martin,” said Krack in a first reaction in a press release from Aston Martin. “I am very grateful for the amazing opportunity Lawrence Stroll and Martin Whitmarsh have given me. Aston Martin is one of the biggest car brands in the world and I have been asked to take a leading role in ensuring success on the F1 circuits.”

“I have been working in motorsport for 20 years and have worked with Sebastian Vettel in 2006 and 2007 when I worked as an engineer at BMW-Sauber. He was the team’s test driver at the time,” concludes Krack. He indicates that he has great appreciation for the German and that he is happy that he can work with him again.
