Sergio Perez should score big in the coming races. At least that is what team boss Christian Horner wants, after the Mexican only managed to collect sixteen points in the last races.
Sergio Perez has had little success since the summer break. In four races he managed to score only 16 points. In comparison, George Russell scored as many in the same period. Max Verstappen scored almost four times as many points, while he was still in Italy after a crash with Lewis Hamilton.
With seven races to go, Red Bull has slowly but surely lost touch with Mercedes in the championship. According to team boss Christian Horner, the Mexican really needs to get to work. “He has only scored 16 points in the last races. It was a combination of bad luck and little luck. We are real desperate and need him in the next seven races.”
“The last two races he could have finished on the podium,” the Briton continues. “We had a problem with track limits in Monza and in Sochi he had a bad pit stop and later we made the wrong tire choice when it started to rain.”
Still, Horner is confident that it will work. “So things could have turned out differently for him, but I’m sure it will all work out for the next seven races,” emphasizes the Red Bull team boss.
