Ferrari has passed its crash tests for the new Formula 1 season 2022 and had the chassis homologated for the new year. This is what our colleagues from the Italian edition of ‘Motorsport.com’ report.

Haas had made his crash test public before Christmas, now Ferrari is following with his car. As usual, the tests took place in Bollate near Milan and gave Scuderia the green light from the FIA to start the new season with the car.

With the as yet unnamed successor to the SF21, Ferrari would like to get back to the top that has not been seen in the past two years. In 2020 they crashed to seventh place, and in 2021 they were at least third again. However, they have been waiting for a victory since Singapore 2019, when Sebastian Vettel achieved his last Grand Prix success to date.

The completely new regulations offer Ferrari a good chance to assert itself against the previous leaders Red Bull and Mercedes. “How many races do we want to win? As many as possible,” announced team boss Mattia Binotto. “When I say that we as Ferrari always have to strive for the best, then that’s true.”

“We don’t want to go into a season with low expectations. Internally, our goal is to win as many races as possible,” said the Italian.

The new Ferrari of the 2022 season will be presented sometime between February 16-18.
