Lewis Hamilton calls Charles Leclerc ‘a leader’ and is almost short of superlatives to name what he thinks of the young Ferrari driver.
Let’s take a look at Leclerc’s performance this season. We saw him finish on the podium once this season. At Silverstone he took second place behind Lewis Hamilton, where Max Verstappen was previously knocked off the track. In addition, we often see him finish just outside the top-3. He has already been fourth six times. The 24-year-old Monegask is currently sixth in the standings. So he’s doing fine, a bit best of the rest .
Climbing in ranking
Hamilton also appears to be impressed with Leclerc’s performance, he tells Motorsport.com . “It’s great to see how Charles has grown, he’s become a leader in a phenomenal team,” said the Briton. “Of course they have had a difficult period, but they are getting stronger now. They get faster again and climb in the ranking. Slowly they are reconnecting with the front teams.”
Leclerc grows with Ferrari
Hamilton knows that Leclerc will continue to grow and continues his praise: “He is still so young, he is on a wonderful journey and he has the class to continue to grow and become even stronger. He showed his potential early in his career. This team is only moving forward and growing with it. I look forward to the future when hopefully we will race together more.”
