Christian Horner is not pleased with Mercedes’ decision to protest against the race result of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The constructors’ champion is filing a case with the FIA against a number of issues and Horner finds it inexplicable that his rival is acting in this way.
“Whether Mercedes is now acting as a bad loser? Let’s wait and see what happens next,” said Horner, visibly disappointed with Mercedes’ attitude. In front of Ziggo Sport’s camera, Horner reacts to the series of protests by Toto Wolff and co. “We trust the stewards to make the right decision.”
“It’s really not good for anyone that they do this,” Horner continues. “They can’t just take the championship away from us. Nobody takes Verstappen’s title away. But hey, could we have expected a different reaction?’
Horner: ‘Max finished the job himself’
Nevertheless, happiness prevails with the Red Bull team boss. “Unbelievable, what a season. We needed a bit of luck and it finally came to us today. Max has had so much bad luck this year, it is right that he has now succeeded. The safety car threw us the win, but Max did a fantastic job himself. We are proud of Max.’
