One-time world champion Jenson Button touts the title fight between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen as one of the best he has witnessed. The Briton has no idea who will eventually win the world title, he says at Luxury London.
Button is looking forward to the battle between Hamilton and Verstappen this season. “The great thing is that they are two very different drivers and it goes between two teams. Also, the cars are competitive on different types of tracks. So yeah, great to see,” said Button. The former world champion refers to the fact that a driver outside the Mercedes team can become world champion for the first time since 2013.

The two fighters are evenly matched, according to the Brit, which is why they will undoubtedly meet again in the remaining races. The much-discussed accident in Monza is therefore as clear as a log, according to Button: “I think it was more Verstappen’s fault, the door would always be slammed in turn two.” Hamilton is blamed by Button for the accident at Silverstone.
After fifteen races, there is only two points between seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton and rival Max Verstappen, who wants to take his first world championship. There have been several seasons where the world title in the last race was decided by just one point. Button, who became champion in 2009 with Brawn GP, can therefore not say at this moment who the title would go to.
