Jos Verstappen does not participate in Dubai 24 Hours


Jos Verstappen will not participate in the Dubai 24 Hours this Friday. It would be his first official race in 10 years but the Dutchman has withdrawn for private reasons.

The 49-year-old Verstappen would participate with Thierry Vermeulen (the son of manager Raymond Vermeulen, Roger Hodenius and Steven van Rhee in a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup of the Dutch team GP Elite. The training sessions for the long-distance race started this morning, Verstappen was already there during previous unofficial training sessions.

Verstappen’s official return to motorsport is once again delayed, last November he would already participate in the Drentse Rally in Assen. That event was canceled due to corona measures. In Dubai, Verstappen will be replaced by multiple Porsche Cup champion Larry ten Voorde. De Tukker was already present in the role of coach, but will now get behind the wheel himself.

Jos Verstappen returns to motorsport. He will act as coach of Thierry Vermeulen, the son of his manager.
