Kamaz dominates tenth stage Dakar Rally, drama for the Dutchman

The tenth stage of the Dakar Rally covered 375 kilometers. It was Dmitry Sotnikov who was the fastest with his Kamaz, followed by team colleagues Eduard Nikolaev and Andrey Karginov. That trio is also part of the top four of the standings and reinforced that glorious ranking.

In today’s stage, Ignacio Casale was the first non-Kamaz driver. Best placed Dutchman was again Janus van Kasteren, followed by fellow countrymen Vic Versteijnen, Martin van den Brink and Mitchell van den Brink. In the standings, Van Kasteren rises to P5 due to major problems for Ales Loprais, with more than half an hour ahead of number six, Martin van den Brink.

There was great drama for Gert Huzink today. He crashed into the treacherous dunes in such a way that his truck broke in half. Huzink is doing well, but the Dakar adventure is over for the man from the Riwald Dakar Team.
