Robert Kubica can count on the support of the Polish PKN ORLEN group every year, which helped the Polish driver to return to the premier class of motorsport. Since 2020, Kubica has been part of the Alfa Romeo team, as a test and reserve driver.
It has not been announced what amount PKN Orlen will pay for the new contract. In years past, this was estimated at a mere $15 a year.
He will also be active in that role in 2021, replacing Kimi Raikkonen, who was killed by Covid during the Grand Prix of the Netherlands. Also next year Kubica will have the same role within the team, which means that we will most likely see him in action during some Friday practice sessions as well.
