Lewis Hamilton: 10 million euros for Pagani Zonda

Seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton has sold his Pagani Zonda 760 LH sports car, a custom-made product. Allegedly, Hamilton is said to have received 10 million euros for this.

The car was known like a sore thumb in Monaco: the purple-colored Pagani Zonda 760 LH super sports car, a custom-made product for Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton, equipped with a 760 hp V12 Mercedes AMG engine with a 7.3 liter displacement. The Englishman liked to post one or the other photo of the unique item.

The most successful Grand Prix racing driver hit the headlines in November 2015 because he had an accident with it in Monte Carlo. At that time, the Englishman wrote on Instagram: “While this is basically nobody’s business, there will certainly be people who know my position and will try to take advantage of the situation and make some money quickly.”

“Nobody was injured and that is the most important thing. But the vehicle was obviously damaged and I had very light contact with a stationary vehicle. I want to inform about it because I think you have to stand by your actions. Mistakes happen to everyone. It is essential that we learn something from it. “

Now the auto magazine Quattroruote has reported that Hamilton has sold his purple runabout. The Italians want to have found out that Hamilton received around 10 million euros for this. Hamilton paid around 1.5 million euros seven years ago.

There are only five vehicles of the Pagani Zonda 760 worldwide, one roadster and four coupés. According to the “The Pagani Zonda Registry” portal, Hamilton covered less than 1000 kilometers with the car. It is not known who the buyer is, but the car is said to have been sold to the UK.

It is known which super sports car will be the next in the garage of the Englishman: the more than 1000 hp AMG One.

Hamilton said: “I can still hardly believe that there will soon be a hypercar with a Formula 1 engine. We won the 2015 world championship with this drive unit. I was able to drive Project ONE for the shooting of the current campaign and I am very proud of the extraordinary performance that Mercedes-AMG has invested in this project. This car is absolutely unique. “

Lewis Hamilton presented the hypercar from Mercedes-AMG at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt 2017. The Project ONE sports car is nothing more than a Formula 1 car for the road, a technical delicacy from top to bottom and from back to front: carbon fiber monocoque, 1.6 liter V6 hybrid engine with single turbocharger, such as he also works in the racing car of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. The speed has been reduced for the street version, the boost pressure is 4 bar. In a racing car these engines run a maximum of 4,000 kilometers, in Project ONE they have to digest 50,000 km.

In February 2021, Mercedes-AMG has a video on its own YouTube channel as an appetizer that shows the car in red and silver paintwork.

The AMG One is scheduled to go into production in mid-2022, and a series of 275 cars at a unit price of 2.5 million euros is planned.
