It was an anything but easy season for Haas with zero points in 22 races, but for team boss Günther Steiner that came as no surprise. His team has ‘made the best of it’ and has managed to use this season as preparation for the future: “We are ready.”
Haas made no secret of the fact that from the first race of 2021 the focus was on 2022. The team arrived at Imola with a small upgrade, but Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin had to do without updates after that. The American team was the last one all season and although that is of course frustrating for the drivers, for team boss Günther Steiner that was in line with expectations.

“I am confident we can be where we were before the pandemic hit,” Steiner said. “This year was what it was. We couldn’t do much about it, but we made the best of it. I think the two drivers developed very well, the team stayed strong and we didn’t make many mistakes. That’s what we wanted to use this year for: to prepare for the future. And we are ready for it”, concludes Steiner combatively.
