Max Verstappen was given a grid penalty of no less than five positions before the start of the GP of Qatar. The second place on the grid thus became seventh.
The reason for this was the ignoring of yellow flags on the straight during qualifying, which were waved in front of the slow-moving Pierre Gasly. However, there was plenty of miscommunication, as the yellow flags had already been raised in the FIA’s system, but were still waved at a track post.
Marko: “Incomprehensible that the FIA has not got this in order”
“It is completely incomprehensible that the FIA does not have the entire marshal system in order. In the digital system it suddenly did not give a yellow flag, but an inexperienced marshal first shows a yellow flag and then double yellow,” said an embittered Marko at Server TV.
The Austrian does not make a killing pit of his heart: “This is at the expense of the drivers and that in a multi-billion sport. This is simply unacceptable.”
