New AlphaTauri passes crash test

AlphaTauri can continue to build the car for 2022 with confidence. The new battle weapon of Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda has passed the FIA crash test.

In just under six weeks, the new Formula 1 season will start with a three-day test in Barcelona. The teams are currently working hard to get the new cars roadworthy. One of the first requirements is that the car is safe. Before a car can enter the track, it must pass an extensive crash test by the FIA.

‘Italian’ teams set the tone

AlphaTauri is the third team with Italian roots to survive the FIA crash test. Haas – which has its chassis built by Dallara – already passed that test in December and the new Ferrari car has also proved to be safe enough.
