Therefore, Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali is expecting an exciting weekend.
“There has never been a Formula 1 car on this route, and tire tests have not yet been carried out there. So I expect that there will be a lot going on on the slopes, ” said the Italian for Motorsport. And he added: “The system is almost ready, only a few adjustments are necessary. I am sure that Formula 1 in Losail will have another fantastic weekend. ”
The fact that Qatar will have a permanent place in the Formula 1 calendar for ten years from 2023 was not least due to the great interest of the association there, Domenicali also revealed. “Qatar’s desire to be part of the F1 family was evident from the start, so it was only logical to talk about the future and build a long-term partnership.”
And the 56-year-old from Imola proudly added: “It’s not easy to get a race off the ground. We move thousands of people, hold talks with governments and create security concepts. It is extraordinary how well we can adapt to change. We have proven that we can respond to difficulties. And the 22 races on the calendar this year prove how strong the system is and how good the relationships we have built around the world are.”
