George Russell is still waiting for the beer that friend Alex Albon promised him. Those statements were made by the prospective Williams driver after Russell contributed to the seat for Albon.
“George is a very good friend of mine. He was actually too supportive of me. The Williams board said they couldn’t really consider George’s opinion too much because he’s such a fan of yours. I owe him some beers. Hopefully we can have dinner together soon to celebrate our transitions,” Albon said shortly after signing a contract with Williams.
The pair were at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Sunday to attend an NFL game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Miami Dolphins. Russell was then asked if he had already been treated by the Thai, but that was not the case yet. “He still hasn’t paid me a beer,” laughs Russell. “We’ll save that for after the season. Then we can have a good party when the time is right. Not for now, I’m waiting.”
