Sixth stage Dakar Rally shut down

The sixth stage of the Dakar Rally has been shut down for both the motorcycle and quad drivers. The organization of the desert rally has decided to do this early on Friday morning. The route is impassable because of the tracks left by cars and trucks yesterday in combination with heavy rain.

The result of the day is based on the split times of the waypoint at 101 kilometers. For the time being, the full stage will be run with the cars and trucks.

Ross Branch was also part of the motorcycle standings. The Yamaha driver (photo above), who could still see a top ranking given the small differences in the top ten, had to retire after a serious fall. He was transported to the bivouac by the medical team with pain on the right side of his body.
