Where the sixth stage of the Dakar Rally was halted for the motorcycles and quads, the cars drove the full distance. The Dutchman Bernhard ten Brinke did that in the Toyota Hilux of Overdrive not without merit. He came in just four minutes from day winner Orlando Terranova.

In any case, Ten Brinke is doing well in the Dakar Rally. After all, don’t forget that he was only told days in advance that he would participate at all when he was called up as the replacement for Erik van Loon, who was struck by corona.

In the general classification there was no problem for Nasser Al-Attiyah. With a solid third place, he extended his lead over Sebastien Loeb. The Frenchman admitted fifteen minutes to the time of the driver from Qatar. In fact, due to the loss of time, Loeb has dropped to P3 in the standings, behind Yazeed Al Rajhi. The mutual difference after 21 hours of racing? Four seconds.

It was again a very successful stage for the Coronel brothers. The twins crossed the line in 22nd place on the fifteen minutes of the day winner. At the time of writing, the merry duo is even given 16th in the overall standings!
