Van Kasteren ‘best of the rest’ in fifth stage Dakar Rally

If you look at the results of the fifth stages of the Dakar Rally, you can safely call them ‘monotonous’ in the upper regions. The first four places are occupied by the four factory trucks of Kamaz. However, that does not detract from the performance of Janus van Kasteren, who was just eight minutes behind day winner Andrey Karginov. Again.

He thus strengthened his ‘best of the rest’ position in the standings. At P4 he is the first non-Kamaz. Karginov, who lost a lot of time on Wednesday, is still 45 minutes behind him, but at the moment Van Kasteren seems to be the man who can prevent a Kamaz-one-two-three-four.
