This Friday, the second free practice for the Belgian Grand Prix of Formula 1. Despite crashing in the end, Red Bull rider Max Verstappen made the fastest lap of Spa-Francorchamps: he recorded a time of 1m44s472.
The aforementioned accident occurred at the end of practice, at the exit of turn 7. With the wet track, the Dutchman lost control and hit the wall with the back of the car. Fortunately, he didn’t get hurt.
“Max is fine, but from the looks of it his car was badly damaged. The session will not restart”, wrote the official Formula 1 profile on Twitter.
Mercedes had two drivers after Verstappen. The Finn Valtteri Bottas (1m44s513), who led the first training, was the runner-up. The British Lewis Hamilton was third, with a time of 1m44s544.
The third free practice will take place on Saturday, at 6:50 am (GMT), while the definition of the grid is scheduled for 9:30 am. The race will take place on Sunday, at the same time.
