For the time being, the weekend of Max Verstappen and Red Bull in Turkey does not look very rosy. The Dutchman is critical on social media and knows that there is a lot of work to be done.
Verstappen is aware that title competitor Lewis Hamilton is facing a ten-place grid penalty in Istanbul. It offers the opportunity to make an important blow in Turkey and regain the lead in the world championship. Unfortunately, Friday brought little confidence in those chances and the Dutchman already complained to the international press afterwards. In particular, the balance in the car was hard to find and Red Bull has to work to make up for this towards Saturday.
Looks better than how it performs
After all obligations on Saturday, Verstappen takes the trouble to provide his fans with a reaction via his own social media. His reaction on Instagram speaks volumes. “Unfortunately, the car looked a lot better than it performed. We have to work hard to look better tomorrow,” the Dutchman indicates. Despite that, he did feel that the track was much more raceable than last year. “I really enjoy driving this track. It’s great to drive here,” he added.
