Toto Wolff is looking forward to the final phase of the season. He is pleased to be still in the running for both championships with Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes and is also trying to ignore comments from Christian Horner.
It’s a season to remember and the world title chances have been going on like a yo-yo effect between Max Verstappen and Hamilton all season. The latter now seems to be fully back in the race. “We have to be realistic. If Max had won in Qatar, the championship would have been decided,” Wolff said firmly to OE24. “Now Lewis is only eight points behind and we are a few points ahead in the championship.”
Keep on fighting
The Mercedes team boss notices that his team and Hamilton have gained momentum and are lightning fast in the final races. “We’ve got the speed in the car. We were very fast last weekend. That’s very good news and we have to make sure it stays that way. We have mentality, we will keep fighting until the last”, Wolff says combatively. “Almost no one expected it to be this open a few races ago.”
Wolff ignores Horner
“If we still become champions, it would be unbelievable. If we lose, the opponents have earned it. Then we move on to next year. Everything that comes now is a bonus, we enjoy every minute,” he said. it realistically from Wolff. Finally, the Austrian goes into statements by Horner, who said that he does not have to kiss Wolff’s ass. “I will not respond to that. I have to turn off that film very quickly,” he keeps to the surface.
