Alex Marquez has been left ‘alone in the face of danger’ and in the absence of his brother Marc, who is recovering from an injury to the optic nerve (diplopia) after a fall while training, the youngest of Cervera’s brothers has had to face all the responsibility at the Allianz Júnior Motor Camp, which these days has brought together 20 boys and girls from all over Spain at the Rufea circuit.
“Marc is dying to be here with us. This morning I have 50 messages from him on my cell phone asking me about the children and how it is going,” explained Alex, who logically had to answer many questions about his brother’s condition. that he missed the last two races of the season and couldn’t be in the Jerez test last week either, testing the new Honda for 2022.
“He is completely focused on next season. In the Jerez tests he kept calling me and before leaving he already told me several things about the new bike,” acknowledged Álex, who has tried to take away the ‘iron’ from the situation: at home, resting and taking care of the dogs, at least he does something like that, “he joked.
And is that Alex and his brother want to remain optimistic about it: “Marc already went through this injury in 2011 and came out, but it is not a bone, there are no deadlines. I am not a doctor or eye specialist but it is clear that it is an annoying injury and of course there are ups and downs emotionally speaking. With patience everything works out. At Christmas we will know something else “, he commented.
